The City of Refuge is a ministry to the homeless and abandoned children of Jamaica. It is made up of two homes, in two very distinct locations on the island of Jamaica. The first home is located in Content Gap, 12 miles northeast of the City of Kingston, in the lovely Blue Mountains. The second home is located in Christiana, in the center of Jamaica. The City of Refuge is licensed as a children's home with the Child Developmental Agency of Jamaica. The home receives children from infancy through thirteen years of age.
The Swansons
Carl is curently teaching 4th/5th grade split in Springfield. Mandy is an early childhood teacher who is currently staying at home with thier young children. Carl and Mandy both grew up in the Springfield, MO area and attended Evangel University. They have two children Myleigh and Porter.
Myleigh is four and her birthday is on November 3rd. Some of her favorite things to do are: sing, read books, color and paint, have fun at the park, and dance, but most of all she likes to ask lots of questions!
Porter
Porter is almost three and his birthday is on July 12th. He loves animals, especially farm animals and our dog Bluea. It is pretty common to find him getting into things, like the refrigerator, hamper, toilet, pantry, or anywhere else you wouldn’t want your three year old. He is quite the ham always making us laugh!
